Test run for yeerk drone vehicles: one

((from here))

Starscream's moving as soon as her feet hit the floor of her lab, weaving briskly in and out among the stations where her assistants and drones are working.

"This way," she tells the human host who's following her with the bucket containing his squad mates. "Through this door."

Silence falls over them as they enter her private sanctum, which is currently dominated by three tables in the middle of the room. On each of those tables is what looks like a body covered from the chest down with a sheet. One of them is a dead ringer for a certain human woman named Natasha Stanton. Another is a fair haired male, and the third is a dark skinned male with strong features.

"Set the bucket here." She turns to look at him, her expression saying that she expects to be obeyed.

Three frowns, but he lets Dallesh go to follow the drone. He'd ratehr stay with Five.

The captain is settling quickly into her new host. Some of the settings seem off for her preferences, but she can adjust...

In the other lab Dallesh finds a big box of something like Mechano, wire of various thickness, and a diagram of a very simple sensor nest.

And he already has the diagram of that sensor... and his best friend in the bucket.

"...Is there a reason you just made the shell hit itself in the face?" inquires Starscream, brow arching.

The technician's bright enough to see where this is going. But whether it's a test, a gift or a way of keeping it occupied, it doesn't care. It sets down the bucket and sits by the box, pulling out components and matching them to the diagram.

"...Just testing," Five says quickly, lowering its arm. Three stifles his smirk.

Try all three, Dallesh.

"Alright...." Starscream doesn't look around as another drone comes in and offers Three a big fat sandwich, only turns her attention to adjusting the things that she hasn't given the yeerk in the nest control over, asking for feedback from Five as she works.

Five reports in a flat, neutral voice, as one might when they're playing the role of unsympathetic alien mook.

Three takes the sandwich in surprise, looking through the contents before he does anything obvious with it. "Why do you have human food?"

"Why do you look humanoid, for that matter?" Five mutters.

"We held bilaterally symmetrical forms long before humans did." Starscream shrugs, and then tells Five to sit up. "And human food's higher in protein, as a rule."

"Protein is good for you?" Three's still doing the talking; Five's just obeying and watching for now.

"If you have a protein based body. That's not human food, though your host will be able to use it easily." Starscream now asks Five to do all the fun little things she'd asked Dallesh to do.

"Hmm." Three bites into the sandwich, trying to see if it tastes different. Because... he should gather intelligence while his boss is busying the alien.
